Five Minute Cinnamon Rolls
We always have cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning, but let’s be honest, we never have time to make them from scratch. I used to buy the ones from the refrigerator section until I learned that you can make them from puff pastry in about five minutes. I actually prefer these to regular cinnamon rolls- they are flaky and have a croissant-like texture. And the fact that they take 5 minutes to put together is our Christmas gift to you ❣️🎄💫
1 sheet puff pastry fully defrosted
2 Tablespoons melted salted butter
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 Teaspoon cinnamon
1 whole egg whisked with 1 Tablespoon water
Icing:
1/4 cup powdered sugar
2 Tablespoons milk or eggnog
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Gently unfold puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. If needed, use a rolling pin to gently smooth it out. Brush it with melted butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
Tuck in the edge of the puff pastry and roll it up, not too tightly. Slice into 1.5 inch slices, about 6 to 8 pieces depending on the size of your puff pastry. Brush seam and secure and brush entire roll with egg wash.
Grease a muffin tin and place rolls into tin - cut side up. Brush tops with egg wash. Bake for 20 minutes.
Whisk together icing ingredients and drizzle over cinnamon rolls.
