Watermelon Margarita

Cocktails and Bites, summer edition is here! Kicking off our favorite series with our favorite summer cocktail, the watermelon margarita. We feel like this is the drink of the summer, and we have perfected the proportions, if we do say so ourselves. The recipe is for one Margarita, but it can easily be batched out into a pitcher for a crowd.

Juice one small watermelon. If you have a juicer, that is our preferred method. But you can also put watermelon in a blender and blend on high for a minute or two. Strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove any leftover pulp.

1 1/2 oz Tequila
1 oz Cointreau
2.5 oz watermelon juice
1 oz lime juice
Tajin (or any brand of chili salt)
Limes to garnish

Pour some Tajin in a shallow bowl. Rub the rim of a glass with a lime wedge, then dip glass in Tajin until rim is coated.

Combine tequila, Cointreau, watermelon juice, and lime juice in a shaker over ice and combine.

Fill rimmed glass with ice and top with Margarita 💫
